Bahrain
Royal Opulence
A dreamy wedding steeped in regal splendour.
Conceptualized, planned and executed within 45 days, the Mehta-Jatia wedding was a three-day celebration in Bahrain; spanning five distinct events, the entire gala centered around the theme of Royalty. The families hosted over 1,000 guests in luxurious hospitality. The event brought alive the grandeur of Indian traditions in all their magnificence with elements of Arabian culture tastefully infused to lend a fresh, new dimension to time-honed festivities.
The festivities kicked off with a Welcome Lunch that saw close friends and family come together to toast the couple over a sumptuous array of the couple’s favorite cuisine – Japanese, a beautiful flower-show, and Jessica Manuputty’s upbeat band – Amsterdam.
The Mehendi venue, crafted as a palatial courtyard with Indo-Arab influences in a palette of gold-tinted peach, olive and pearl; featured a ceiling of 160,000 feet of floral drops interspersed with hand-embroidered gold zardozi tassels and 3,000 lotuses flown-in from Thailand. The ballroom, encircled by reams of hand-embroidered drapes and hand-crafted panels dotted with pearls and jewels, made the perfect backdrop for the vivacious Sangeet that followed.
In order to give the guests an authentic experience of the local culture, we curated an Arabic Souk replete with an array of food stalls, handi-craft vendors, spice stalls, trinket sellers, oud players, whirling dervishes, swirlers, magicians and other entertainers.
The nuptial ceremony was designed to showcase true royal splendor with the bridal entry on a 200-year-old dhow. The mandap, set amidst an infinity pool, was built with intricate mirror mosaic detailing, left open to the sky, and featured a stunning Murano glass and floral chandelier and custom-made regal silver furniture. The wedding ceremony culminated with firework display that lit up the Bahrain sky.
