Hosting the Prime Minister at the launch of India’s first dedicated transhipment and gateway hub.
The burgeoning commercial port of Cochin welcomed DP World as the terminal operator for Kochi’s International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) – India’s first-ever dedicated transhipment and gateway hub. As one of the largest marine terminal operators in the world, DP World brought its extensive experience in terminal infrastructure and facility management to efficiently manage the largest single-operator container terminal in the country
The launch of the terminal, inaugurated by the then Indian Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, was attended by over 5,000 guests, including high-level government officials, dignitaries and customers. The high-profile launch event required a dedicated team of logistics and ground staff to ensure its smooth and safe running. The launch was followed by a gala lunch for select invitees and an official press conference at the Taj Malabar. The event called for an adept convergence of efficient hospitality and seamless on-ground execution.
