Fine-dining Gala
A glamorous evening, crafted to celebrate the partnership between two eclectic countries
An afternoon of revelling in the Bollywood series of Belgian photographer, Geraldine Langlois, led to an evening gala that celebrated Belgium’s economic mission to India. Presided over by the Royal Highnesses of Belgium – Prince Phillipe and Princess Mathilde, the soiree event symbolised the iconic partnership between the two countries through art, fashion and cinema.
The event commenced with a fashion show by leading designers from the two countries – Anamika Khanna and Natan, set within the verdant beauty of an outdoor courtyard. The mirrored walls of the set accentuated the brilliance of the mirrored conical installation at the centre of the courtyard, from which emerged the showstopper wearing a diamond bustier valued at €1 million.
A sit-down dinner followed, with silver-service fine-dining on tables laid out with Belgian crystal centrepieces and glassware by the renowned crystal house Val Saint Lambert. Fine crystal and diamond installations sparkled across the grand ballroom while guests were serenaded with the compelling harmonies of the Belgian singer-pianist duo Johan Sabbe and Caroll Vanwellden.
The gala raised €30,000 for Sister Jaan Foundation that works with underprivileged children in India, and felicitated Anil Kapoor for his excellence in international cinema.
